Past Shows (2006)
Sat Nov 25th, '06 - Private Party, Fond du Lac, WI At this 18th B-day party, we rocked so hard that the floor broke...seriously. Lots of great bands played with us: Surreal Effect, The Finnegans, The Hillside Ramblers, Devi-Jive and the Uptown Five.
Sat Nov 4th, '06 - Miramar Theatre, Milwaukee, WI I hope you got to witness the awesomeness of this show. The legendary Toasters as well as Midwest heros Mustard Plug.
Sat Oct 28th, '06 - Windsor/Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada This was a Halloween show. We dressed up like good catholic boys...4 of us were priests, and 1 of us was a nun :)
Fri Sept 29th, '06 - Main Stage, Waukesha, WI (21+) It was another great night at the Main Stage for everyone. $1 taps/shots/mixers kept everyone happy all-night!
Fri Sept 15th, '06 - Club 770/Union South, UW-Madison, WI Shame on you if you missed this show! This ska-fest was awesome, so thanks to everyone who came out to see us, Umbrella Bed, The Skandal, The Roughness, Skaput! and Odd End Out.
Sat Aug 12th, '06 - State Fair, West Allis, WI Another fun year at State Fair is in the books. Thanks to everyone that came out and enjoyed their evening with us.
Fri Aug 4th, '06 - Riverfest, Watertown, WI This was a great festival to attend. Great food, great sound, and fun people. Thanks to Watertown and Swimteam to give us the opportunity to play with The Gufs and The Bodeans.
Sat Jul 15th, '06 - Bastille Days, Milwaukee, WI Last year we had the opportunity to play Bastille Days on one of the side stages, but this year we were upgraded to the Main Stage. The headliner, King Soloman, was an awesome reggae band, as well as being great guys.
Fri Jul 7th, '06 - Summerfest, Milwaukee, WI Summerfest rocked again this year! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to hear our set and show your support. There was an early scare when at 10:30am, all power to the festival grounds was off. We prepared for a possible acoustic set, but thankfully the power was back on just after the festival started at Noon.
Sat Jun 17th, '06 - Main Stage, Waukesha, WI (21+ show) As usual, our show at Main Stage was awesome. What? You missed it? Why would you do a silly thing like that? You missed 2 other cool bands, Reaching Scarlet (ex Out Of Line), and Sopogigalos.
Sat Jun 3rd, '06 - Slipper Club, Madison, WI (21+ show) This was Carrie Dainty's birthday party, and by God birthday celebrate we did! (Nate broke his dainty little leg walking home from a show Carrie had put together a couple years ago...). The Slipper Club is the best bar in town, don't you forget it!
Sat May 6th, '06 - Lawrence University, Appleton, WI Skappleton came and went, a smashing success again this year. Bands who played: Mustard Plug, Umbrella Bed, I Voted For Kodos, The Skattsmen, S2D, Car Full Of Midgets, Hired Geeks, Catch Of The Day, The Invaders (Reunion show!), Reaching Scarlet (ex Out-Of-Line), 4th & Michigan, Moving Mikey, The Skamikazes, and Chicken Poodle Soup. We also got to introduce our van, Van Hagar, to all our ska friends. May he rock with us for many years to come!
Fri May 5th, '06 - Vnuk's, Milwaukee, WI (21+ show) Well I'll be damned...THE INVADERS got back together for a few reunion shows, so they asked if we'd be part of it. Besides us, they also asked our pals Umbrella Bed. The show was da bomb!
Fri Apr 22nd, '06 - Windsor, Ontario We somehow ended up in Canada, so we played a show with a number of bands in this huge, dark room. Was it magic? Yes, it was magic....Canadian Magic! We shall return to Windsor, and possibly run for mayor.
Fri Apr 21st, '06 - Chesterton American Legion, Chesterton, IN Good times were had with Manic Sewing Circle, and Rule 22, not to mention our homey Brian, and the many people we met at his house post-show, including his rat, and Pedro.
Fri Apr 7th, '06 - Der Rathskeller (UW-Madison), Madison, WI We got to share the stage with our friends Catch Of The Day and A Gnarly Swell. Sadly, this is also the show that our loving van, Vangina, decided to do herself in. Her transmission died in the Taco Bell parking lot after the show. She was promptly laid to rest in a plot at a local Madison salvage yard on Sunday. RIP.
Sat Mar 18th, '06 - Pillllars, West Bend, WI We were pleasantly surprised to find the owner of this fine establishment sporting an original old-school "Devil's Night Out" Bosstones shirt when we arrived...so we knew this would be a fun night. Loads of people showed up to see Surreal Effect and Catch Of The Day. We'll try to set up another gig here sometime this summer.
Sat Mar 11th, '06 - Commons of Nekoosa High School, Nekoosa, WI Our pal, Courtney The Destroyer convinced us it would be fun to head back up to Nekoosa to play a benefit show and sleep on her floor. She was right. The show was a huge success, and we had a blast. The Bands who played were: Northsoutheastwest, 4th and Michigan, Once overlooked, Sorry About Your Couch, Devijive and the Uptown Five, and The Skattsmen.
Fri Mar 10th, '06 - Main Stage, Waukesha, WI (21+) Main Stage is like our 2nd home. We love playing here! Recoil couldn't show up, but they had a good reason...one of the band member's wives (he may have 2 or 3...not sure) was giving birth to child. Anura put on a good show, and then we got busy in the hizzy.
Sat Mar 4th, '06 - TimBukTu (former VFW), Oshkosh, WI This show was neato. Oshmosh III proved to kick all the ass, with us, and with other bands, including I Voted For Kodos, INVU, Patterns In Static, Offend Your Friends, Late Night Arrival, Still No Name, Beneath The Sands, and New Age Youth. Good room, good sound, and good gracious, the crowd was randy. The band order was top-secret, so's that no one attempted to assassinate us, and it turned out well. Thanks for turning out in droves!
Sat Feb 11th, '06 - UW-Eau Claire (Council Fire Room), Eau Claire, WI This was pretty rad. After the show, we played "Dirty Mattress" for a friend, and a few of her friends, in a very private back room. (That's what ska is all about. Private rooms.) Umbrella Bed proved that they're the bees knees, Catch Of The Day rocked, and Hired Geeks played their millionth show with us. We'd somehow never played Eau Claire before, so we blazed some new territory here...thanks to the crowd that came out!
Mon Feb 6th, '06 - High Noon Saloon, Madison, WI (21+) We considered dressing up like cowboys for this show, but decided we were way too macho, so instead we just brought the ska/rock. We played with several hippies, and also The Buffali, whom were awesome. We decided we are going to play thousands of Monday night shows for now on, as Monday is "rock night".
Sat Jan 28th, '06 - Tanner Paull, West Allis (Milwaukee), WI Wowzers, IV4K rocked the hizzie! Poor Lee had a broken finger, but his butt was tight as ever ;) The 1985 Bears cancelled, but Koala Taxi, Forth Effect, People Safari, and East Of You all did their thang.
