Past Shows (2003)
Tue Dec 23rd, '03 - Fox 6 studios, Milwaukee, WI What an adventure! Our trailer's lock rusted shut, so we couldn't use it to haul our equipment to the station...so of course we ended up being late. Somewhere along the way, our guitar amp lost a fuse, so that added another surprise when we got ready to soundcheck. The coolest thing about the studio were the robotic cameras...they move through the studio via remote, so once in a while you gotta dodge one speeding by. Lost of fun was had, and hopefully we'll get to do another live TV spot again soon.
Sat Dec 13th, '03 - Clark Masonry, Valparaiso, IN This was our last show of the year! We played with our pals in The Indecisives and I Voted For Kodos, plus our new pals The Presidency. (I'd like to take this moment to point out that you cannot trust Amanda, the alto sax player for the Indecisives. She's a nice lady, but if you pass out around her, she'll humiliate you and then deny any involvement!) We tried out a new song, and had some male underwear-clad dancers for Wannabe, which as you can imagine was very special. Thanks to everyone that came out and swung on the tire swing!
Fri Nov 14th, '03 - Northern Michigan Univ., Marquette, MI Happy Skanksgiving! We played an excellent show with The Indecisives, Distorted Penguins and the mysterious Chad Fischer, who busted out some mysterious solo acoustic blues to mystified ska fans. Yes! Good times were had by the bands....and good times were had at the hotel after the show. Hijinks included a list of everyone in the hotel....bloody marys....a bed soaked in beer.... high school football...and ONE of our band members waking up with makeup that he doesn't remember applying...(there will unfortunately be some pictures posted soon...)...Anyhoo, thanks to everyone that came to the show; the people in the great white north are very kind.
Fri Oct 31st, '03 - Final Destination (old Red Rüm), Oconomowoc, WI Nothing says rock like rocking in costume. Especially when you dress up like a sexy nurse. However, not all of S2D was to dress as a sexy nurse...just the sexy one. Kenny dressed like a phantom...or vampire... or something, and the rest of S2D dressed as white guys in a rock band! Wow! Good times were had though...The Fallout was absolutely great, as was the person who came dressed as a toilet. Special props go to the guy who thought I was a girl and tried to pick me up in the bathroom....
Sat Oct 18th, '03 - Billy's On Broadway, Manitowoc, WI This was really a show set up for The River City Rebels (Victory Records) and The Code, but neither band showed up. Not classy at all. Otherwise, Billy's was a good place to rock out. We debut the Duck Tape song for those lucky few. The rest of you will have to check out www.ducktape.com to hear what we're talking about...the site should have our song up before Wed. Check back to it starting Wed Oct 22nd to vote for our song.
Friday, Sept 26th '03 - Frat Party Mania, Madison WI, USA One sure way to get us to play a show is guarantee us alot of beer.

LOTS of beer.

This show had all of that, and young kids too! Good times were had by all, especially young Brian of Pick 9. Hats off to you sir! We played everything we knew, followed by a hippy-riffic harmonica jam, then a terribly off-key version of Steve Miller's beloved chestnutt, then some more S2D songs, and then SOME of us (Nate) got too drunk! Thank you Madison! (Especially for Mike's speeding ticket, which has officially made him a man.)
Sat Sept 13th, '03 - private party, USA Nothing says rockin' like an outdoor show in the rain! The courts have ordered us to be quite about this show, but I CAN say that SOMEONE'S bass amp was destroyed by SOMEONE outside the band.....but that's all I can say. Thanks to *(&(*& Communi)(*() for having us, and we'll come back next year with new stuff to break!
Fri Sept 12th, '03 - UW-Oshkosh Union, Oshkosh, WI I always say thank God for Oshkosh, and now I know why! This show was a blast and a half. We played with Truth in Fiction, The Somatics, Pudge and the lovable tikes of Pick 9. We unveiled our newest song at this show, "National Insecurity", and within minutes, it was all over Kazaa, so check it out today! We also gave a radio interview before the show, so thanks to Oshkosh's local college radio station. College radio is the best thing on the airwaves, so make sure you listen to it.
Sat Sept 6th, '03 - Harley, Oconomowoc, WI This show was SO Harley-riffic. We broke out the leather and the Steppenwolf covers and played a show for the finest bikers in the land.

The Kenny Dinkis Becomes a Man August Road Trip!!!

Fri Aug 8th, '03 - Windsor, Ontario, Canada Kenny started to become a man in Windsor. We noticed he was a little hairier than normal, and his voice was sort of crackly at the end of the set. Windsor is one of the coolest places we've played, since there's alot of cool Canadians there, and hardly any of them are beady eyed and floppy headed! Thanks to everyone that came out, and thanks to all the guys in Repeat Until False, Tripshot and all the other bands that played. After the show, we met some lovely Canadian ladies with a broken van, and since we're kindly Americans we tried to fix it, but it just didn't work out. However, we've got some lovely memories from Paula and Vanessa and their friends that we'll tell our grandkids aboot!
Sat Aug 9th, '03 - Pittsburgh, PA Our friends The Distorted Penguins hooked us up with this show in the pearl of PA! There was six bands on the bill, and there was sweat to be had by all. This was at the American Music Cafe, which is a hella cool venue. All proceeds from this show benefited the bands. Look for some hot footage of us playing our medley from Broadway's Grease coming soon!
Sun Aug 10th, '03 - Morgantown, WV West Virginia is the farthest we've ever played from Wisconsin, so of course we were very nervous that we'd be lynched by the natives, but it actually turned out pretty well. We played with some REALLY good bands, including Monty's Fan Club, SRG and of course the Distorted Penguins. There was merriment in the air! After this show, we drove an EXTREME 12 hours back to wisconsin. We're EXTREME! Woo! It was during this drive that Kenny Dinkis truly became a man....

Tue Aug 5th, '03 - The Rave, Milwaukee, WI So, this was obviously cool. We played with our pals the Distorted Penguins, as well as Sunspot and the legendary Fallout. History was made. The Rave is a little out of the way place in downtown Milwaukee. It's Milwaukee's best kept secret! We suggest you check it out.
Fri July 25th, '03 - PIT Skate Park, Rockford, IL Ah yes, Rockford, the jewel of Illionois! Goodness did we ever get sweaty here! We played with There's Always Wednesday, Spindle and The Dog And Everything, who won the award for having the guy with the biggest blond hair of the night. Too Short Notice was also supposed to play, but cancelled on short notice. (Go figure!) Attention all bands: The PIT is one of the cooler places we've played, so check it out! Thanks to all the people that came to the show, especially the shirtless kid that tried to steal someone's shoes for me.....
Fri July 4th, '03 - Frame Park, Waukesha, WI Yup, we played on der Independence Day! We wanted to actually march in the parade, but the man wants to stop the rawk, so we played in a park afterwords. We need to give a big shout out to Burnout since they're sassy with a capital sass. Also, big shout out to the sun for burning my lilly white arse!
Mon June 30th, '03 - Summerfest, Milwaukee, WI SummerFest rocked as usual, but this year was that much better seeing that we were able to take part in the festival. Thanks to anyone who stopped out to see us sing/jump/sweat/rock. Also, thanks to the Summerfest staff for being so nice to us...we sure hope you'll have us back next year.
Sat June 14th (night), '03 - Red Rüm, Oconomowoc, WI So this was of course a kick arse show. Beer was issued to all that came and paid our hefty $5 entrance fee. Kenny had some drinks to kill the severe pain in his lil' paw. The Cutouts and Tuesday's Waiting played before us, and it was good. Then, since we've been cross-training sixteen hours a day for SummerFest, we played every song that we know (except one...). History was made. Y'all need to see us the next time we play at the Red Rüm, because it's a party. And a half. And another half. Allright, it's like two parties in one room. Do it!
Sat June 14th (day), '03 - Sports Commons, Delafield, WI EENGH!!! Sorry to anyone who may have come out to see us here, but we couldn't make it because a nasty ol' washing machine jumped up and bit our guitar players hand, which effectively ended his playing that afternoon. It's the first show we've ever missed, so we feel really bad about it. Horrible. Allright. I feel better now. E-mail us if you were there to see us and are pissed, and we'll totally make it up to you. (Does nude pics of Mike sound good to you? Yeah, I thought so.)
Sat June 7th, '03 - Mission Coffee House, Stevens Point, WI Once again, my theory about the Mission being the coolest place in Stevens Point was verified by this show. It's good that the people were so cool, because we brought some major sweat stank to the stage. This show was with Pick 9, who won't stop because they can't stop. We declared it "Ladies Night" because there's was lots of ladies there and we're clever like that. Local Legend Roger was also there, spreading his presence around to all takers. Go to The Mission Coffee House's website for more good timey fun!
Fri June 6th, '03 - Lakeside Park (Walleye Weekend), Fond du Lac, WI This is the bestest fish festival in the midwest, so of course it was only a matter of time untill we played there. We played at the Mike's Music Tent, which was of course hothothot! We played with those criminals in Pick 9, and FunRod, whom were fun, even though I didn't see any rod...(not that I'm complaining....) We're always willing to bring the rock to family events, festivals, gatherings and whatnot....but what we really want to play is a tractor pull or demolition derby, so if you know someone that can help us with this, do it!

Todd Koolade Did America Good Mini-Tour, USA*

* Warning: Todd Koolade may not have actually "done" America, but he DID get his hair did.
Wed May 28th, '03 - Nixon Park, Hartland, WI Home is where the Hartland is, so we played here first at Nixon Park. Granted, it was all rainy for shizzle it was cold, but that didn't stop many fine people from coming out, taking their shirts off and having a "good time". (Note: Good time is defined here as running around and screaming) Thanks to everyone that came out to see us off.
Thur May 29th, '03 - Wired Frog/Roseville Theatre, Roseville (Detroit), MI Engh!!! We got double-booked with the pop-rock sensation Snow White, so we ended up playing a wee bit later (like 4 or 5 hours) than we had planned. Big thanks to everyone that stuck around to see us and IV4K do it. (And by that, I mean play music.)
Fri May 30th, '03 - Windsor, Ontario, Canada Everything we were told about Canada was true. The people are good looking, not to mention gentle, kind, and willing to skank. Just to let you know, they've got a killer scene in Windsor. Plus, Todd and Marc got invited to Prom the next night. (Nothing says rock like Prom. Nothing.) On a more horrible note, those crafty Canadians must have found out Marc is loaded, because they stole his wallet, SO, now we have to come back to Windsor because A) the show kicked mondo arse, and B) Marc is planning on hunting down the person who stole his cash money. Lookout (or should I say lookoot)!!!
Sat May 31st, '03 - Rock Harbor Cafe, Muskegon, MI This was one of those shows that makes you glad you're in a band. We played to a buttload of fine fine people with our bosom buddies I Voted For Kodos, as well as Stamp'd (who are THE shiznit...), The Blue Light Specials, and the Jolly Rogers (whom were indeed Jolly). This is the show where we had about fifty people up on the stage with us for our last song, which was obviously hot. Mark my words people, for we shall return! (P.S. Thanks to Rigo and Luiz for the fine crash pad and the extra fine Jenga, Tequila and grain alchohol!)
Sun Jun 1st, '03 - Township Hall, Valparaiso, IN This was the last stop on the Todd Koolade Does America Mini-Tour, so Todd had to make sure he "did" America by chatting up the fine ladies in Valparaiso. Despite the road being a hard, cruel and hung-over mistress, this show went pretty well for us. We played with the Blue Light Specials, and again with the sexy misfits in IV4K. I don't think we've ever played a show with this many people grinding on each other while we played, so hats of to you Valparaiso!

Sun May 18th, '03 - Fireball Espresso Cafe, Falcon Heights (St. Paul), MN This show had it all. Good times. Good tunes. Good buds. Good public declarations of pants wetting. All of this and much much more happened in St. Paul, our FIRST OUT OF STATE SHOW. None of us have ever been outside of Wisconsin before, since we're merely simple farm folk, so as you can imagine we were both afraid and excited. Thanks to IV4K for making us feel comfortable. PS. The Fireball Espresso Cafe is one king hell awesome place. Check it out. Now.
Sat May 17th, '03 - Lawrence University: Appleton, WI So, this was Skapleton, and as anyone that was there can tell you, it was just great. One of the first popular ska bands ever, the Skatelites played this show, and it even inspired me (rrnt) to dance. The Toasters played as well (Ska-mazing), and so did I Voted For Kodos (Ska-some), The Allstonians (Ska-tacular), Stamp'd (ska-riffic), S2D (us) and many many other great bands. It was the bestest thing ever. Did you hear that? The bestest. Thanks for everyone that came, especially the guy that wore the dress and played the didgeradoo. You sir, are one of a kind.
Mon April 21st, '03 - The Pit (Carroll College), Waukesha, WI For a Monday night, this show rocked. NHOI were in top form, giving everyone a reason to rock out. Thanks to the kids who drove all the way down from Green Bay to see us...it means a lot. Also, thanks to Rey at WCCX for setting the show up.
Fri April 11th, '03 - New Moon Coffee House, Oshkosh, Begosh So this place is just totally bitchin'. That's right. BITCHIN'. And we don't mean complaining. We played this show with 3/3 Compromise, and those rascals in Pick 9. We sweat so much at this show that we became a grotesque mockery of what we normally look like. Our friends and family wouldn't even talk to us. However, the fine ladies that worked at the New Moon liked us, so all's well that ends well!
Sat April 5th, '03 - Mission Coffee House, Stevens Point, WI Free coffee=good times! We played this show with Fast Eddie, Rattbelly, and the Mudgett's. It was real cute. It totally kicked ass. Honorable mention to Tom, who obviously has good taste in music.
Sat Mar 29th, '03 - Old Armory, Whitewater, WI So, there was like, eleventy billion people at this show! Well, not really, but good times were had by all. This show was put on by Deluxe Audio. Go to deluxeaudio.net to find oot more aboot that. Also, big shout out to Dan "the ladies killa", who spazzed it like a pro!
Fri Mar 21th, '03 - One 2 One Teen Center, Waukesha, WI This was our first show in the paradise of Waukesha. We played with Half Day and Camp Pancake, who rocked our socks off with their startling rendition of "The Vowel Song". The One 2 One is a teen center in Waukesha, so if you're a teen in Waukesha that's where you're supposed to be, so go!
Sat Mar 15th, '03 - Red Rüm, Oconomowoc WI Fantastico! We played this show with Madison favorites Sunspot and Tangy. If you were there and you don't remember, that's because there was free beer passed down from on high to all those who came and paid our meager $4 so Marc can send his ten kids to college. The Red Rüm always turns out to be a kick ass show. Why? Stop asking questions! Thanks to everyone that came out, we had a damn blast! (PS. Hey Al, thanks for coming! You kick major bum!)
Sat Feb 15th, '03 - Do It All Sports, Fond du Lac, WI This was our triumphant return to Fondulac, home of the great Todd Koolaid. The Do It All is this crazy sports center outside of Fondulac which actually makes for a really cool place for rockin'. Luckily, we were all over our "love hangover" from Valentines Day, so we made like Cupid and, uhm, played ska. Good times were had by all. Thank you Fondy USA!
Fri Feb 7th, '03 - Marquette University Sports Annex, Milwaukee WI Sometimes a show goes perfectly without any sort of sound problems whatsoever. This, was not one of those shows. However, it barely mattered because the kids at Marquette are supremely "wicked-gnarly" cool! (And really, who wants to hear us sing anyway, right?) We played this show with The Critics and Out of Line. Good times! We want to say eXXXtra big thanks to everyone who came out for the show! You guys are golden, don't go changin'!
Sat Feb 1st, '03 - Club 770 (Union South), Madison, WI Can I say kick ass? I think I gots to, because this show was! Madison is proving to be our type of town. Our bosom buddies Out of Line played first, and then we played and/or got our thing on. This was just too totally fun. Honorable mention goes out to the kid that sat calmly right in front of the stage on a chair the whole time. (He's all, "I'm calm, don't worry 'bout me!", and so when I (rrnate) saunter down to sit by him during the last song, he launches a full-scale tickle assualt on me!) The Slackers were extremely kick ass as well. If you like music, then you'll like them. Check 'em out!
Sat Jan 4th, '03 - Riverwest Commons, Milwaukee, WI This was our very fancy first show of the year, and we played it with Out of Line going first, followed by Ripp Winkler, and then Something To Do! Ropin' Rodeo Nate (me!) was heckled by the rest of Something To Do in a highly disputed error, much to the delight of the crowd. Played all the old chestnutts here, and had a good time doing it. So far, this was the best show of the year! (Har har.)
